Position Overview
A dynamic team is expanding and seeking a talented professional to join as a Conflict and Peacebuilding Coordinator. This role will lead efforts aimed at strengthening governance capacities for local government institutions, improving their ability to prevent, manage, and promote peaceful conflict resolution.
Position Details
- Location: Maiduguri, covering Konduga and Bama LGAs
- Duration: October to December 2025, subject to extension based on performance
- Reporting to: Gender, Protection and Inclusion Unit
Job Purpose
The Conflict and Peacebuilding Coordinator will strengthen governance capacities for local government institutions to enhance their ability to prevent, manage, and promote peaceful conflict resolution. The coordinator will set up and strengthen community feedback mechanisms while ensuring all programme activities are gender responsive. The successful candidate will facilitate dialogue among stakeholders and lead the implementation of peacebuilding initiatives in Konduga and Bama, designing and managing programs that foster social cohesion and sustainable peace. The role requires providing technical guidance to field teams to ensure alignment with donor expectations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management and Coordination
- Lead the development, planning, and execution of social cohesion components of the funded project in close collaboration with the Gender, Protection and Inclusion Unit
- Ensure field-level implementation of project activities is timely, integrated, and aligned with community needs and donor expectations
- Maintain regular engagement with cooperating partners for effective collaboration and project synergy
- Facilitate strong coordination and cooperation with staff to ensure all programs are gender, protection, and conflict sensitive and responsive to vulnerable populations
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Monitor program quality and compliance with organizational standards and donor requirements
Advocacy and Representation
- Represent the organization in stakeholder engagements and peacebuilding forums
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Track program progress and outcomes against established targets
Community Engagement
- Engage with communities to understand needs and incorporate feedback into programming
