Civil Engineer, Experienced at Goteh Construction

About the Role

Goteh Construction seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of physical and infrastructural projects. You will be responsible for a diverse range of works including roads, bridges, canals, dams, structures, buildings, power plants, water and sewage systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive day-to-day field supervision at project sites to ensure all construction meets quality standards in compliance with design specifications, drawings, budget, and schedule
• Conduct technical and feasibility studies and site investigations to establish effective and efficient project executions
• Identify and resolve project design and development problems
• Recommend measures to enhance improvement or efficiency opportunities
• Coordinate field work, including contract work, to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications, and codes
• Identify and implement construction-specific opportunities for improvement
• Test building materials for quality and provide cost estimates and labour requirements for each project
• Assess environmental impact and risks connected to projects
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal government regulations, standards, and procedures

Required Qualifications

• First Degree or Master's Degree from a recognized university in Civil Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years' post-NYSC experience in construction and project execution
• Proficiency with CAD packages
• Excellent time management skills to handle competing deadlines
• High level of autonomy and self-efficiency
• Ability to work effectively with design engineers, clients, and contractors

Desirable Qualifications

• Membership with the Nigerian Society of Engineers and COREN
• Professional membership with internationally recognized engineering bodies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
