Civil Engineer at PG Consulting Limited

Job Purpose

To provide professional engineering expertise in the supervision and execution of road and building construction projects. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage day-to-day site activities on road and building construction projects
• Oversee project execution to ensure adherence to design, specifications, and engineering standards
• Monitor contractors, subcontractors, and site workers to ensure compliance with project plans
• Implement and monitor QA/QC systems across all stages of project execution
• Inspect materials, workmanship, and processes to ensure compliance with standards and client requirements
• Prepare and review method statements, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and QA/QC documentation
• Prepare and review work schedules, progress reports, and technical documentation
• Conduct quality control checks on construction materials, workmanship, and finished works
• Ensure strict compliance with safety, health, and environmental (SHE) standards on site
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, site supervisors, and foremen
• Liaise with consultants, architects, surveyors, and clients for project updates and approvals
• Manage resource allocation including manpower, equipment, and materials
• Conduct site inspections to resolve technical issues and recommend corrective actions
• Enforce compliance with engineering codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
• Support project planning, cost estimation, and contract administration processes

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: B.Sc. / B.Eng. in Civil Engineering (M.Sc. is an added advantage)
• Professional Certification: COREN, NSE, or equivalent recognized engineering body certification
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years in civil engineering and construction project management
