Civil Engineer at JEV Consulting

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures, facilities, and civil works in support of oil and gas operations.

This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, safety standards, and project management within the energy and industrial environment.

Preferred candidates will be resident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State or willing to relocate, as the role is based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and supervise civil engineering projects, including foundations, pipelines, platforms, and structural works
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation
• Conduct site inspections and ensure all civil works meet design, safety, and quality standards
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery
• Perform structural integrity assessments, feasibility studies, and cost estimations
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
• Support tendering processes by providing engineering inputs, cost estimates, and technical evaluations
• Manage subcontractors and monitor work progress against schedules and budgets
• Implement and uphold HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards in all project phases

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree (B.Eng / B.Sc) in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution
• Minimum of 5–10 years' experience in civil/structural engineering within the oil and gas or energy industry
• Proven experience in site supervision, project management, and structural design
• Membership of relevant professional bodies (COREN, NSE) is mandatory
