About the Position

Handyman Daige Properties is seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria. You will play a crucial role in overseeing construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with superiors to develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets aligned with project specifications, timelines, and resource requirements
• Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with COREN regulations, safety standards, building codes, and project specifications while monitoring progress and quality of work
• Supervise and coordinate construction crew members and subcontractors by assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring teamwork to meet deadlines and quality standards
• Implement and manage quality control measures, conduct inspections, and address any deficiencies or deviations from specifications and client expectations
• Coordinate delivery of construction materials, tools, and equipment to site; manage inventory levels and monitor resource utilization for optimal efficiency
• Enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety inspections, identify and mitigate potential hazards, and promote a safe work environment in compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate project records, document daily construction activities, and provide progress reports and updates on milestones, issues, and challenges to project managers
• Liaise with managers and stakeholders to ensure effective communication, timely issue resolution, and alignment of project objectives
• Evaluate and respond to change orders, modifications, and scope variations with proper documentation and approval processes
• Identify and address construction-related issues promptly to ensure project continuity

Required Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Civil Engineering
• Knowledge of COREN regulations and Nigerian building codes
• Experience in construction site management and supervision
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
