Position Overview

The ideal candidate must be proficient in preparing and cooking authentic Chinese cuisines using traditional techniques such as stir-frying, steaming, roasting, braising, and deep-frying. The role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver consistent, high-quality meals.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes, ensuring rich flavours and attractive presentation
• Execute traditional Chinese cooking techniques, including stir-frying, steaming, roasting, braising, and wok handling
• Develop new menu items and improve existing recipes to enhance customer satisfaction
• Ensure all meals are prepared on time and meet established quality standards
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including ingredient preparation, food storage, and stock management
• Monitor and maintain strict hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards in the kitchen
• Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations
• Inspect ingredients for quality and freshness, ensuring proper inventory rotation
• Collaborate with management on menu planning, cost control, and kitchen budgeting
• Ensure compliance with food regulations, kitchen protocols, and company policies

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, HND, or OND qualification
• Proven experience as a Chinese Chef or specialty cook in a hotel or restaurant setting
• Strong knowledge of Chinese culinary techniques, spices, and dishes
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
