Chief Technology Officer

About the job - We are hiring a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for a client - This role requires a seasoned technology leader with deep hands-on product development experience and a strong track record of building, scaling, and maintaining production systems. Role Overview - The CTO will own the company’s end-to-end technology strategy, architecture, and engineering delivery. - You will be responsible for turning business and product ideas into scalable, secure, and reliable digital products while building and leading high-performing engineering teams. Key Responsibilities: - Define and execute the company’s technology and product development strategy - Lead the design, development, and scaling of core digital products and platforms - Oversee system architecture, infrastructure, and technology stack decisions - Build, manage, and mentor engineering and product development teams - Ensure high standards of code quality, security, performance, and reliability - Partner closely with Product, Operations, and Business teams to deliver roadmaps - Drive agile development processes and engineering best practices - Ensure compliance with security, data protection, and regulatory standards - Own technical delivery timelines, risks, and execution outcomes - Support technical decision-making at executive and board levels Requirements: - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - 10 – 15+ years of experience in software engineering and technology leadership - 5+ years in a senior leadership role (CTO, Head of Engineering, Engineering Director, or equivalent) - Proven experience building and shipping production products, not just managing teams - Strong background in full-stack development and modern system architecture - Experience scaling products from early-stage to high-traffic or enterprise environments - Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, APIs, and system security - Experience working in regulated industries (fintech, banking, payments) is a strong advantage - Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills Nice to Have: - Experience leading fintech or financial services products - Experience working in high-growth startups or scale-ups - Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native architectures - Experience supporting fundraising, due diligence, or technical audits
