Chief Security Officer at The Federal University of Agriculture Zuru

Position Summary

The Federal University of Agriculture Zuru is recruiting a Chief Security Officer responsible for effectively coordinating the Security Architecture of the University.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle security matters in a student environment
• Recommend on the recruitment of security officers and the discipline of erring officers
• Supervise and manage security personnel of the University
• Liaise with security agencies and law enforcement bodies for the protection of lives and properties on both campuses of the University
• Coordinate security personnel of the University on intelligence gathering within and outside the premises of the University campuses
• Engage with the security guards and personnel of host communities towards the security of the University
• Formulate security policies for the consideration of the University Management
• Ensure that adequate security measures are in place to mitigate against threats to the security of members of the University community
• Formulate and implement ideas for the development and enhancement of the University's security architecture

Required Qualifications

• A good Honours degree in the Humanities or Social Science (not below Second Class Lower Division) from a reputable University, OR a Higher National Diploma (HND) in any discipline relating to the Humanities or Social Sciences (not below the grade of Lower Credit) from a reputable institution
• A Master's degree in any of the aforementioned disciplines (preferred)
• Ten (10) years of cognate experience, of which three (3) years must be at the grade of Assistant Chief Security Officer
• Ex-serviceman status with a rank not below Chief Superintendent of Police or its equivalent in the Armed Forces
• Unblemished character with high moral standard, demonstrating integrity and ethical conduct
