About the Role

A Chemistry teacher at the college level is responsible for delivering advanced chemistry education, fostering scientific inquiry, and preparing students for careers or further studies in science.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan comprehensive college-level chemistry courses, including general, organic, inorganic, physical, and analytical chemistry, aligned with academic standards and institutional goals
• Deliver engaging lectures, demonstrations, and practical laboratory sessions to facilitate understanding of complex chemical concepts and theories
• Oversee laboratory experiments, ensure safety protocols are followed, provide guidance in conducting experiments, and maintain laboratory equipment and materials
• Develop and grade assignments, exams, quizzes, and practical reports while monitoring student progress and providing constructive feedback
• Participate in research projects, stay updated with recent developments in chemistry, and integrate current scientific advancements into teaching
• Advise students on academic and career pathways, assist with research projects, and support individual learning needs
• Ensure a safe, clean, and well-organized learning environment while managing classroom interactions and fostering a positive learning atmosphere
• Continuously review and update course content based on scientific developments and educational best practices
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary activities, participate in departmental meetings, and contribute to curriculum development committees
• Establish partnerships with industry and research institutions to enhance learning outcomes
