About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team at Atelier Boutique Hotel in Lagos. As a key member of our culinary department, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth kitchen operations, maintaining the highest quality standards, and supporting the Executive Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

General Job Description

A Chef de Partie is a professional responsible for ensuring excellence in the kitchen. From ordering ingredients to maintaining accurate inventory lists and ensuring cleanliness throughout the workspace, you will provide the Head Chef with the support needed to create outstanding dishes for our guests.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and design of all food and beverage menus
  • Produce high-quality plates that excel in both design and taste
  • Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently while meeting quality standards
  • Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
  • Resourcefully solve problems and take control of challenging situations
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedules, and assess staff performance
  • Order supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with colleagues and guests

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in a similar position within a 3- or 4-star hotel or serviced apartments
  • BSc degree in culinary science or related certification (preferred)

Skills & Abilities

  • Comprehensive understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Excellent kitchen and staff management skills
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
  • Familiarity with industry best practices
  • Working knowledge of computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS systems)
  • Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets
  • Guest-oriented and service-minded approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills
