## Title: Chef

About the Role

Blu Atlantic Hotel is seeking an experienced Chef to join our culinary team in Lagos, Nigeria. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality intercontinental and local dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare intercontinental and local dishes with strict adherence to food safety standards
  • Set up, clean, and organize work stations
  • Prepare ingredients for each shift, including washing vegetables, chopping, and seasoning meat
  • Prepare ovens, utensils, and grills for service
  • Receive and process orders from wait staff or computerized ordering systems
  • Recommend ideas for specials and seasonal dishes
  • Handle multiple food orders concurrently and efficiently
  • Present dishes professionally for service
  • Ensure each guest order is accurately prepared and served
  • Deliver food orders to wait staff in a timely manner
  • Store all food materials properly according to food safety guidelines
  • Sanitize and clean work stations and utensils regularly
  • Reorder stock and food supplies as needed
  • Monitor and assist other cooks and team members
  • Support other chefs and team members with food preparation when needed
  • Prepare closing stock reports and materials usage reports

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of proven working experience as a Chef in a reputable organization
  • SSCE, OND, or B.Sc Degree
  • Fluent English communication skills (non-negotiable)
  • Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment
  • Knowledge of culinary, baking, and pastry techniques
  • Familiarity with sanitation regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate in confectionery or cookery
  • Ability to speak at least 2 major Nigerian languages with basic understanding of a third
