## Title: Chartered Accountant
About the Role
A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent to join us as a Chartered Accountant. This is a key position responsible for managing our financial operations and ensuring compliance with all accounting standards and regulations.
Location
New Makun City, Ogun, Nigeria
Responsibilities
- Post asset, liability, capital, revenue, and expenditure account entries in Tally Accounting Software after proper verification, compilation, and analysis of account information
- Manage the Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Profit or Loss in adherence with financial policies, regulations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Guide and coordinate the activities of accounting staff on a regular basis
- Maintain an appropriate filing system for documents relating to financial transactions
- Reconcile accounts payable on a regular basis
- Oversee handling of manual petty cash and cash reconciliation
- Attend weekly management meetings and provide positive financial and business recommendations
- Communicate effectively with management, staff, customers, vendors, outsourced personnel, and tax authorities as necessary
- Ensure regular remittances and settlement of statutory obligations including VAT remittances, CPF, PAYE, Development Levies, Business Premises levies, Withholding Taxes, vehicle-related payments, and utility bills
- Derive cost estimates for products, base oil imports, and other specialized estimation requirements
- Participate in yearly stock-taking exercises and liaise with external auditors for yearly audits and tax audit exercises
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
- Minimum 5 years of cognate experience in accounting roles
- Excellent Financial Accounting skills, Financial Reporting, and Modelling capabilities
- Sound knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, QuickBooks, Tally, or other standard Accounting Software packages
