## Title: Cashier - Eye Foundation Hospital

Position Overview

This position offers a great opportunity for career growth. The Cashier will be responsible for receiving payments, issuing receipts, and maintaining accurate financial records for the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and confirm patient bills on the system, verifying correct amounts before payment collection
  • Process payments via cash, cheque, direct transfer, and POS transactions
  • Verify cash payments to ensure correct amounts are received from patients
  • Obtain appropriate authorization from the Consultant in charge for cheque payments
  • Confirm approval for direct lodgment, transfer, and POS transactions before issuing receipts
  • Issue receipts only after payment has been received and processed
  • Post transactions into QuickBooks accurately and in a timely manner
  • Balance all transactions at the end of each business day with the Accountant/Auditor
  • Prepare and sign daily cash lodgment reports with the Accountant/Auditor
  • Summarize corporate bills on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports
  • Post journal entries and maintain ledgers
  • Prepare assigned reports as requested
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor, manager, or Medical Director
  • Contribute to team efforts and accomplish related results as needed

Requirements

  • NCE, OND, or Diploma in Accounting or related course from a reputable institution
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a cashiering role
  • Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Expert-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with financial software and bookkeeping systems
