Bursar at Al-Hikmah University

Position Overview

Al-Hikmah University seeks a qualified Bursar to serve as Chief Financial Officer. The Bursar will be responsible to the Council and Vice-Chancellor for the management of the University's finances.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive internally generated revenue for the University
• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and control the financial system of the University
• Advise and support the institution on all financial transactions
• Demonstrate proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Council or Vice-Chancellor

Required Qualifications

• First degree in Accounting or related discipline from a recognized institution
• Relevant professional qualifications such as ICAN, ACA, ACCA, ACMA, or CPA
• Master's degree from a recognized institution of higher learning
• Current membership in a recognized professional accounting body
• Minimum 12 years post-qualification experience
• At least 8 years of experience in the university system
• Minimum 5 years in a top leadership position
• Minimum 3 years of service as Deputy Bursar
• Evidence of continuous mandatory professional development
• Maximum age of 48 years at the time of assumption of duty

Terms and Conditions

The Bursar shall hold office for a single term of five (5) years, subject to the terms and conditions stated in the letter of appointment. Remuneration and conditions of service are competitive and comparable to those offered by most Nigerian universities, as determined by the Governing Council.
