About the Role

A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual to serve as Beach Master. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of marine vessels and facilities at the base.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Port Captain in all duties and support vessel safety at the base
• Conduct pre and post deployment sea trials of vessels in conjunction with other units as required
• Carry out routine checks on navigation equipment and report status to the Marine Deployment Manager
• Perform high-risk equipment inspections and report findings to the Marine Deployment Manager
• Supervise all day-to-day marine operations activities within the base, including harbour operations
• Inspect vessels to ensure seaworthy conditions and follow up on maintenance and repair activities to correct deficiencies after sea trials
• Supervise all phases of deck operations at the base and ship husbandry activities (vessel cleaning, painting, and housekeeping)
• Manage reception, classification, storage, and delivery of all goods arriving onboard or dispatched to/from the port
• Establish and maintain contacts with operations crew onshore
• Liaise with the Marine Deployment Manager regarding arms mobility on and off vessels (pre and post deployment)
• Liaise with the QHSE Department and assist in implementing all Maritime Codes
• Assist the Port Captain to ensure vessels are crewed, operated, and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards
• Issue time off to offshore crew and document crew disposition
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Port Captain and/or Marine Deployment Manager

Required Qualifications and Certifications

• Chief Mate/Master Certificate of Competency
• National Diploma in Nautical Science or Associate Certificate from NIMASA approved Maritime Institute
• STCW mandatory Certificate
• SSCE/First Leaving School Certificate
• Membership of relevant professional bodies
