## Title: Beach Master

About the Role

Ocean Marine Solutions Limited seeks a dedicated and experienced Beach Master to join our team in Lagos. This is a critical position responsible for marine operations oversight and vessel management at our base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Port Captain in all operational duties
  • Ensure the safety of all vessels at the base
  • Conduct pre- and post-deployment sea trials of vessels in conjunction with other units as required
  • Perform routine checks on navigation equipment and report status to the Marine Deployment Manager
  • Supervise all day-to-day marine operations activities within the base, including harbour operations
  • Conduct checks on high-risk equipment and report status to the Marine Deployment Manager
  • Establish and maintain contacts with operations crew onshore
  • Manage reception, classification, storage, and delivery of all goods arriving onboard or dispatched to/from the port
  • Inspect vessels to ensure seaworthy conditions and monitor maintenance and repair activities to correct deficiencies
  • Supervise all phases of deck operations at the base, including ship husbandry (vessel cleaning, painting, and housekeeping)
  • Liaise with the Marine Deployment Manager regarding arms mobility on and off OMS boats (pre- and post-deployment)
  • Coordinate with the QHSE Department and assist in implementation of all Maritime Codes
  • Ensure vessels are crewed, operated, and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards
  • Issue time off to offshore crew and document crew disposition
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Port Captain and/or Marine Deployment Manager

Required Qualifications and Certifications

  • Chief Mate or Master Certificate of Competency
  • National Diploma in Nautical Science or Associate Certificate from a NIMASA-approved Maritime Institute
  • STCW mandatory certificate
  • SSCE or First Leaving School Certificate
  • Membership of relevant professional body
