## Title: Audit Intern

Job Summary

Intersect Consortium seeks a dedicated Audit Intern to support our accounting and financial operations. The Intern will be responsible for recording transactions, compiling and analyzing data, performing audits, assisting with budgets and financial forecasting, computing taxes, and reporting findings to management. This role provides valuable exposure to financial analysis and accounting practices within a professional organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting systems and processes, including systems access and reconciliation of records
  • Participate in preparing and reviewing cash flow forecast analysis
  • Monitor costs and expenditures against budgets and forecasts
  • Assist in preparing year-end accounts
  • Support preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets
  • Review internal financial controls in conjunction with the accountant and identify improvements to business processes
  • Support finance and accounting activities across the company
  • Calculate application taxes in accordance with applicable laws
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are implemented efficiently and in line with generally accepted accounting practices (e.g., FIRS)
  • Assist in instituting adequate financial control systems and processes to secure assets and ensure efficient operation
  • Support development of key financial processes including budgeting, management, and financial accounting/reporting
  • Prepare monthly reports and analyses
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting and variance reporting

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum National Diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years post-NYSC work experience in a relevant field

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.Sc Degree in Accounting or Economics
  • Professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA)
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar platforms)

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost control
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
