## Title: Assistant Procurement Officer
About the Role
A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual to join their procurement team in a support capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Management: Assist in identifying, evaluating, and maintaining relationships with suppliers
- Purchase Orders: Prepare and process purchase requisitions and orders in line with company requirements
- Market Research: Conduct research on pricing, product availability, and vendor reliability
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier information
- Compliance: Ensure procurement practices adhere to company policies and relevant regulations
- Inventory Support: Collaborate with the store/warehouse team to monitor stock levels and replenish supplies
- Reporting: Assist in preparing procurement reports and updates for management
- Negotiation Support: Participate in discussions with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing
Required Skills & Competencies
- Organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple procurement tasks simultaneously
- Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication for liaising with suppliers and internal teams
- Analytical ability: Skill in comparing prices, evaluating supplier performance, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Technical proficiency: Familiarity with procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office tools
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with procurement officers, finance, and store teams
- Attention to detail: Accuracy in documentation and compliance with procurement procedures
- Excel proficiency or willingness to learn
