## Title: Assistant Procurement Officer

About the Role

A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual to join their procurement team in a support capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Management: Assist in identifying, evaluating, and maintaining relationships with suppliers
  • Purchase Orders: Prepare and process purchase requisitions and orders in line with company requirements
  • Market Research: Conduct research on pricing, product availability, and vendor reliability
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier information
  • Compliance: Ensure procurement practices adhere to company policies and relevant regulations
  • Inventory Support: Collaborate with the store/warehouse team to monitor stock levels and replenish supplies
  • Reporting: Assist in preparing procurement reports and updates for management
  • Negotiation Support: Participate in discussions with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple procurement tasks simultaneously
  • Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication for liaising with suppliers and internal teams
  • Analytical ability: Skill in comparing prices, evaluating supplier performance, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Technical proficiency: Familiarity with procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office tools
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with procurement officers, finance, and store teams
  • Attention to detail: Accuracy in documentation and compliance with procurement procedures
  • Excel proficiency or willingness to learn
