## Title: Assistant Manager, Finance & Accounts
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager for our Finance & Accounts department. The successful candidate must have HMO industry experience and a strong background in financial management and accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare final accounts and maintain accurate general accounting records
- Prepare corporate budgets and periodic management accounts to support executive decision-making
- Maintain effective accounting systems, procedures, and controls to safeguard corporate financial assets
- Ensure corporate accounting practices comply with statutory requirements and professional accounting standards
- Initiate and actively participate in the computerization of accounting systems
- Monitor reconciliation of expenditures within profit and cost centers for budget review purposes
- Maintain healthy banking relationships and ensure timely, accurate reconciliation of transactions
- Ensure efficient processing of all accounting transactions with proper recording in cash books, journals, and ledger books
- Maintain liaison with Internal and External Auditors and address all audit queries, exception reports, and issues
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- First degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting or a related field
- Postgraduate qualification in Accounting or a related field
- Professional certification or membership with at least one of the following bodies: ICAN, ACCA, CPA, or CFA (mandatory)
- Minimum 5 years' post-NYSC experience with at least 4 years in a related accounting field
- HMO industry experience (required)
Required Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word
- Strong knowledge of accounting software
- Financial management and analysis
- Audit coordination and compliance
