About the Role
We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for this position with Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group.
This role oversees the entire accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor payments, compliance with financial regulations, and efficient team operations. The position provides financial insights and analysis to support strategic decisions, budgeting, and performance evaluation across the organisation's diverse service lines, while monitoring and managing project and operational costs to ensure budget adherence, financial efficiency, and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable Management
- Process vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments in line with contractual terms
- Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices and expense vouchers
- Verify supporting documents (POs, GRNs, contracts) before invoice posting
- Reconcile supplier accounts and respond to queries from vendors
- Monitor accounts payable aging and assist with month-end close
- Prepare overseas vendor payments with detailed bank instructions and payment advice
- Reconcile overseas vendor accounts
- Compute monthly overdraft charges on bank accounts
Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Analyse financial data and create decision-support models
- Prepare forecasts, budgets, and variance reports
- Evaluate financial performance and recommend improvements
- Support month-end closing and financial reporting
Cost Management
- Monitor and manage project and operational costs to ensure budget adherence
- Develop and maintain cost control plans and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS)
- Track budget variances and challenge deviations
- Post project costs to designated project codes and transfer costs to COGS upon project completion
- Reconcile project cost reports with accounting records
- Support cost analysis and enforce financial policies
Coordination and Liaison
- Liaise with vendors, procurement, and finance teams
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Well-versed in Nigerian tax regulations, including PAYE, VAT, and WHT, as well as statutory deductions such as Pension
