Assistant Financial Controller

Position Overview

UNICANE Industries Limited is seeking an experienced Assistant Financial Controller to provide financial leadership and support to our organization. You will work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Accounting and financial management, excellent analytical skills, and experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.

Jamata Village, Lokoja LGA, Abuja Expressway, Kogi, Nigeria

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
• Manage and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Oversee financial reporting and analysis, including variance analysis and trend identification
• Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and systems
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management
• Manage and develop a team of finance professionals

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
• 5+ years of experience in a financial role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP, accounting software)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Age between 35 to 45 years
