Job Summary
We are seeking an Architectural Assistant to combine administrative duties with architectural support tasks. In this role, you will manage scheduling and documents while providing architectural support including drawings, measurements, 2D/3D designs, project file organization, presentation materials preparation, and client and vendor coordination.
You will apply your creativity and problem-solving skills to support the design of houses, office buildings, and other infrastructure types. Working closely with architects, you will help translate client visions into practical designs by considering budgeting needs, environmental factors, and appropriate material selection based on local conditions and structural requirements. You may also assist with obtaining permits and licensure for building materials and site usage.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, plan, and assist in designing building projects, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction procedures, zoning codes, building codes, and building materials
- Support the creation of conceptual plans, renderings, and design documents
- Assist with planning and programming project layouts; help coordinate and integrate engineering elements into unified designs
- Utilize computer-assisted design software to prepare project designs and plans
- Produce construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit
- Prepare drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and Design Development Phase
- Manage administrative tasks including scheduling, document organization, and file management
- Assist in coordinating with clients and vendors
- Help prepare presentation materials for client review and approval
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency with architectural software and computer-assisted design tools
- Ability to create 2D and 3D drawings
- Ability to take precise measurements
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to groups
