Job description
We are looking for a qualified candidate to fill this position.
Position Overview:
- The Accounts Officer will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements.
- The role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong accounting knowledge and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, journals, and ledgers
- Process invoices, payments, receipts, and expense claims in a timely manner
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities
- Prepare financial reports, schedules, and summaries as required
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely settlements
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory regulations
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation
- Maintain proper filing of accounting documents and records
- Liaise with vendors, banks, and internal stakeholders on financial matters.
Required Qualifications:
& Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years and maximum of 6 years relevant work experience
- Professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Experience working with accounting software and MS Excel.
