## Title: Accountant – Travel Industry Specialist

This role is critical in driving the financial health of the company and ensuring robust compliance with industry-specific financial practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting
  • Handle complex industry-specific financial processes such as IATA airline commission calculations, BSP reconciliations, and travel-related tax compliance
  • Provide accurate financial insights and forecasts to support strategic decision-making
  • Design and implement financial controls to safeguard company assets and optimize revenue collection
  • Analyse financial data, prepare detailed reports, and present actionable insights to management
  • Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, IATA guidelines, and company policies
  • Process refunds, reconcile transactions, and address discrepancies proactively
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with business objectives

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience as an accountant in the travel industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA is a strong advantage
  • Deep understanding of financial management in the travel sector, including IATA, BSP (Billing and Settlement Plan), and industry-specific tax implications
  • Proficiency in travel industry accounting software such as TRAACS

Required Skills

  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills with a proven ability to manage finances beyond routine bookkeeping
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
