## Title: Accountant/Data Analyst

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements
  • Generate various financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, providing insights into the company's financial health
  • Ensure all financial records and statements comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and relevant laws and regulations

Bookkeeping and Ledger Management

  • Record daily financial transactions, including revenues, expenses, and journal entries
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting documentation

Taxation

  • Compute taxes owed and prepare accurate tax returns (e.g., income tax, sales tax, payroll tax)
  • Ensure timely tax payments and compliance with all tax laws and regulations
  • Provide tax planning advice to minimize tax liabilities

Auditing and Compliance

  • Conduct internal audits to assess financial operations, identify risks, and ensure internal controls are effective
  • Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to maintain strong financial controls

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
  • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted performance and provide explanations
  • Participate in financial planning and cost analysis to support strategic decision-making

Accounts Management

  • Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely payment to vendors and accurate recording of expenses
  • Manage accounts receivable, overseeing invoicing, collections, and cash receipts

Payroll

  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate calculation of salaries, deductions, and tax withholdings
