## Title: Accountant
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Accountant to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to financial management and accounting operations across multiple areas of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise management on budget management and analysis, and create financial forecasts
- Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and non-compliance issues
- Monitor costs and expenditures against budgets and forecasts, with variation reporting
- Prepare cash flow statements and supporting schedules for management accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS standards
- Develop and maintain key financial processes including budgeting, management accounting, and financial reporting
- Maintain the general ledger, prepare tax returns, and assist with audit preparations
- Reconcile receivables and payables, and administer withholding tax (WHT)
- Perform general bookkeeping and weekly receivables reporting
- Prepare and monitor budgets
- Manage banking activities including account opening and reconciliation
- Coordinate income and receipts monitoring, and maintain fixed asset registers and schedules
- Liaison with auditors and statutory bodies including state and federal tax authorities
- Prepare weekly and monthly accounting reports
- Prepare all monthly, quarterly, and yearly tax reports, ensuring timely filings and payments
- Prepare and manage required documents for internal and external audits
Requirements
- First degree in Accounting or a related Management/Administration discipline
- ICAN or ACCA certification
- Minimum of 4 years of post-NYSC experience
