About the Role

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Accountant. In this role, you will support the CFO in managing the organization's financial operations and ensuring full regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the CFO in day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow management
• Ensure compliance with monthly tax remittances (VAT, WHT, PAYE Tax, and similar taxes) to FIRS and LIRS
• Ensure compliance with monthly staff pension remittances and other statutory deductions
• Support preparation for tax audit exercises, including documentation and activities before, during, and after audits
• File and document all statutory compliance certificates required for business operations
• Update and review periodic financial and management reports
• Support applications and documentation for various financing arrangements
• Assist during statutory audit exercises
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support decision-making processes
• Monitor financial transactions, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to internal controls
• Prepare annual budgets and conduct variance analysis
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to improve financial performance
• Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance in financial operations
• Perform other duties as assigned by the CFO

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position from a reputable organization
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
• Proficiency in advanced MS Excel and accounting software (particularly Zoho Books)
