Job Summary
Our client, a fast-growing company that imports and markets premium wallpapers and architectural moldings from Europe, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage its financial operations. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and effective cost management to support business growth and decision-making. Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Record, reconcile, and maintain accurate financial transactions in the accounting system
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations and maintain proper ledger accounts
- Monitor cash flow and prepare cash forecasts to guide management decisions
Tax & Compliance
- Prepare and file VAT, PAYE, WHT, and Company Income Tax returns in line with FIRS and LIRS regulations
- Maintain compliance with all statutory obligations and liaise with regulatory bodies when required
- Support the annual external audit process by preparing necessary schedules and documentation
Accounts Receivable & Payable
- Manage invoicing, payment collection, and credit control to ensure healthy cash flow
- Review supplier invoices, verify supporting documents, and ensure timely vendor payments
Inventory & Import Accounting
- Track inventory movement and reconcile stock levels with financial records
- Compute landed costs for imported goods, including freight, customs duty, and clearing charges
- Ensure accurate cost allocation for imported products to maintain correct margins
Budgeting & Analysis
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Analyze variances between actual results and budgets to support strategic decisions
- Provide financial insights to management for cost control and profitability improvement
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
