We are seeking an experienced professional for this opening.
Role Description
- This full-time on-site Accountant role is based in LagosThe Accountant will be responsible for providing the following;
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and perform regular reconciliations.
- Prepare management accounts and financial performance reports for senior management and the Board.
- Support external audits and regulatory examinations.
- Preparation and filling of LIRS returns and FIRS monthly and annual returns
- Maintain proper accounting records for managed funds and portfolios.
- Calculate daily Net Asset Value (NAV) for funds in line with SEC approved valuation policies.
- Track investment transactions, income, expenses, and corporate actions.
- Ensure accurate recording of management fees, incentive fees, and other fund expenses.
- Ensure compliance with SEC regulations and reporting requirements.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual statutory returns and regulatory filings.
- Maintain proper documentation for recapitalization, capital adequacy, and fund reporting.
- Monitor bank accounts, fund flows, and liquidity positions.
- Process payments, receipts, and investment settlements accurately and timely.
- Prepare budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
- Enforce internal control procedures to prevent errors and fraud.
- Assist in developing and improving financial policies and procedures.
- Support risk assessments related to financial operations.
Required Qualifications:
& Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is required or strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years relevant experience, preferably in asset management, financial services, or investment firms.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, fund accounting, and SEC regulatory requirements
