Position Overview
Marigold Hospital and Critical Care Center invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time Accounts Officer position based in Lagos, Nigeria. This is an on-site role with a rotating schedule of 2 mornings, 2 nights, and 2 days off per week.
The Accounts Officer is responsible for managing daily financial and accounting tasks to ensure accurate record-keeping, timely processing of financial transactions, and compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations. The role supports the accounts department in maintaining financial integrity and providing accurate information for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate billing for inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and specialist services
- Ensure compliance with insurance policies, health schemes, and regulatory requirements
- Collect patient payments via cash, card, and online transfer
- Process payments to suppliers for medical consumables, pharmaceuticals, equipment, and services
- Work with pharmacy and stores to track stock purchases, consumption, and valuation
- Monitor the accounting of drugs, medical supplies, and ward consumables
- Assist with payroll input, including shift allowances, locum staff, and overtime calculations
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for hospital management
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries for hospital operations
- Support internal and external audits, including compliance with health regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- 1–3 years of accounting experience; hospital or healthcare finance experience is highly preferred
- High numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, insurers, and clinical staff
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in accounting software and hospital information systems (such as EMR)
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
