Account Officer at Alef Recycling

About the Role

Alef Recycling is seeking a qualified Account Officer to join our finance team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and accounting systems
• Process and reconcile daily financial transactions including payments, invoices, and receipts
• Prepare and update supplier and customer accounts, ensuring accuracy at all times
• Review and confirm payment requests, ensuring proper documentation and approval
• Initiate and process approved online payments through internet banking
• Post all bank transactions and payments on the ERP system daily
• Record all purchases and sales transactions on the ERP system
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements
• Support preparation of financial reports and documentation for audits
• Monitor outstanding receivables and payables, and follow up with relevant departments
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of all accounting records
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and regulatory standards
• Perform any other finance-related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications & Requirements

• OND/HND/B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–3 years' experience in a similar role (experience with ERP systems is an advantage)
• Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Word
• Experience with accounting software
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling financial data
