## Title: Account Officer

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial record-keeping, assist in financial planning, and contribute to the financial control and reporting that support strategic growth. This role is critical to ensuring regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and sound financial decision-making in the aviation and charter business environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a full set of financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and prepayments
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow) in accordance with Nigerian Financial Reporting Standards and relevant aviation/regulatory requirements
  • Ensure all journal entries and reconciliations are accurate and properly documented
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes; monitor budget versus actuals; provide variance analysis and actionable recommendations to management
  • Reconcile bank statements, manage cash flow forecasting, and ensure adequate liquidity for operations (including charter operations, maintenance, and importation of parts/spares)
  • Oversee petty cash and ensure prudent fund management across departments
  • Ensure timely preparation of tax returns (corporate tax, VAT, WHT, etc.) and compliance with tax laws
  • Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and regulatory agencies to maintain compliance and resolve queries
  • Support internal and external audits; ensure timely delivery of audit schedules, correct findings, and implement audit recommendations to strengthen internal controls
  • Maintain fixed asset register; oversee depreciation schedules; ensure accounting for acquisition, disposal, and valuation in line with company policy
  • Support periodic physical verification of assets and coordinate with maintenance and logistics for asset tracking
  • Collaborate with procurement and other departments as needed
