Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional.
Your Role:
- Capture all income and expenses accurately and promptly in the accounting system.
- Assist in preparing trial balance, income statement (P&L), balance sheet and supporting schedules.
- Raise customer invoices, track payments, follow-up outstanding balances.
- Receive and verify supplier invoices, process payments and monitor what the company owes.
- Keep the general ledger, cashbook, debtors, and creditors ledgers up to date.
- Maintain the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of the general ledger and financial statements.
- Post month-end and year-end journal entries, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, reconciliations, and adjusting entries.
- Track and report on key business and financial performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity planning.
- Support the Head, Finance and Admin in preparing board-level and regulatory reports (Annual reports).
- Liaise with auditors during annual and interim audits, preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Handle PAYE, VAT, WHT, Company Income Tax and other tax related matters to ensure full compliance.
- Process and remit Pensions and other statutory deductions promptly.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, ICAN) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive finance experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or equivalent) and ERPs.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and integrity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite particularly Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate.
- Quantitative, attention-to-detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
