Job description

A company based in Lagos State is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Account Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience handling construction accounts, project-based costing, vendor payments, and financial reporting, with a solid understanding of industry-specific accounting practices.  Key Responsibilities: - Maintain accurate financial records for construction projects, including job costing and project-wise accounting - Prepare and process invoices, payment vouchers, and receipt - Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely vendor and subcontractor payments -  Track project expenses, budgets, and cost variations - Reconcile bank statements, supplier statements, and ledger accounts - Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting - Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and internal controls - Support payroll processing and statutory remittances (PAYE, Pensions, VAT, WHT etc) - Maintain proper documentation for contracts, variations, and progress billings - Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management - Carry out any other duty assigned within Requirements: - Minimum of 3 years accounting experience, preferably in a construction setting. - Bachelors’ degree or HND in Accounting, Finance or a related field. - Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. - Strong attention to detail, integrity and analytical skills. - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
