Account Manager

Objective - Provide financial leadership and oversight in internal financial operations, ensuring accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and timely financial reporting to support business decision-making. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, and the month-end close to ensure accurate financial records and compliance. - Prepare financial statements, management reports, and other financial documentation to support business decisions and stakeholder communications. - Manage cost accounting for mining operations, ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting - Coordinate audits and ensure regulatory compliance, maintaining high standards of financial governance and risk management. - Support investor reporting and stakeholder communications, providing timely and accurate financial information to stakeholders - Manage day-to-day accounting operations, records, and transactions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. - Oversee cost accounting to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of expenditures related to regulatory compliance, environmental permits, safety investments, and community engagement initiatives. - Ensure legal compliance, prepare financial statements, and manage tax obligations, maintaining high standards of financial governance and risk management. - Develop and oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis, providing insights to support business decisions. - Manage and mentor accounting staff, developing their skills and expertise to drive team performance and business outcomes Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance; ICAN/ACCA required with 5+ years accounting experience; mining sector a plus - Strong knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian tax regulations - Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
