About the Organization

The Danish Red Cross (DRC) Country Office in Niger is seeking a Junior Resilience Delegate to join our team. DRC has been working in bilateral partnership with the Niger Red Cross Society (NRC) since 2017, implementing four projects across various regions including Tillabéry, Niamey, Zinder, Diffa, and Maradi.

About the Role

The Junior Delegate position contributes to the development and monitoring of the DRC-supported project portfolio in Niger, implemented in close collaboration with the Niger Red Cross Society. This role is ideal for young humanitarian professionals looking to develop their careers by working directly with in-country partners to reach populations in need of support.

Project Areas

Current projects operate within the following areas using a triple nexus approach:

• Resilience building
• Sexual and reproductive health
• Humanitarian assistance and cash support
• Migration and displacement

Key Projects

You will work on the following initiatives:

• PRECO: Protection, Resilience, Cohesion: Sustainable support and solutions to displaced and host communities in Mali and Niger (operating in Niamey and Tillabéry)
• AMoPAH: Alliance du Mouvement Croix-Rouge pour la protection et l'assistance humanitaire (operating in Niamey and Tillabéry)
• Resilience Project: Aims to increase resilience of internally displaced persons and host communities in Tillabéry and Niamey at community and urban levels

Support Provided Through Projects

Projects provide direct assistance to internally displaced people (IDPs) and host communities through:

• Humanitarian distributions and cash transfers
• Protection, health, and psychosocial services
• Social cohesion interventions
• Support to income-generating activities
• Capacity-building of NRC staff and volunteers
• Reinforcement of NRC branches
