Position Details

• Position Title: ICT and Database Assistant

Context

Reporting to the ICT Officer in Niamey and under the global supervision of the SRMO and CoM, the incumbent will demonstrate strong technical and behavioral competencies in support of IOM's information technology operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in securing the implementation of IOM ICT standards, policies, and guidelines regarding network systems, IT security, software licensing, telecommunications, and ICT procurement
• Maintain the Niamey and sub-office Local Area Networks (LAN), computer hardware, backup systems, and connectivity, including LAN security
• Monitor and administer mission-critical VPN-based connectivity and provide helpdesk support to sub-offices
• Support the administration of servers providing ICT services (Internet, file sharing, antivirus software, and other services) and configure these services on Niamey and sub-office desktops and laptops
• Create and manage a comprehensive tracking system for ICT Equipment Inventory
• Detect, remove, and prevent viruses on servers and clients, ensuring the latest security protocols are maintained
