Description du poste
Context
Since the beginning of 2022, the security situation in Niger remains volatile. Humanitarian access in some areas is one of the main challenges in implementing humanitarian responses in Niger. This is particularly evident in regions with significant humanitarian needs, including Tillaberi, Tahoua, Maradi, and Diffa.
The presence of multiple armed actors has restricted humanitarian space. To address this situation, strengthening humanitarian coordination to promote access is essential. The Access Working Group (AWG/Access) was established in Niger to contribute to more effective and coordinated humanitarian response, support the Humanitarian Coordinator (HC), the Humanitarian Country Team (HCT), and other partners in implementing and monitoring the HCT access strategy and action plan, and to analyze access constraints to resolve bottlenecks.
The AWG is an analytical and advisory body designed to improve humanitarian access in the long term. NRC, as an active member of this body, wishes to strengthen its participation by providing dedicated staff to act as co-lead alongside OCHA.
About the Position
The Access Working Group Co-Lead will be solely focused on co-chairing the Niger Access Working Group (AWG-Niger) alongside OCHA. While the position is hosted by NRC, the Co-Lead is expected to spend significant amounts of time in the offices of working group members to support improved collaboration and collective outcomes.
What We're Looking For
NRC Niger is seeking an experienced and committed professional who will provide expertise to the leadership of the group for effective and efficient implementation of the access strategy in Niger.
Location
Niamey, Niger
