Research Engineer - AI for Battery Materials

About the Role

The Research Engineer will focus on collecting, structuring, and curating data from battery materials experiments reported in the scientific literature, and on building an intelligent platform to automate and accelerate materials experimentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Systematically extract experimental data from publications on battery materials
• Design structured databases for materials properties and experimental conditions
• Develop simulation-driven and AI-assisted workflows to guide experimentation
• Contribute to a digital platform enabling hypothesis generation, experiment prioritization, and optimization
• Work with the research team to provide technical solutions in the field of AI
• Implement machine learning algorithms in real environment
• Manage MLOps infrastructure and processes
• Oversee data collection and curation efforts

About You

• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent (Ingénieur 1337)
• Excellent background and research experience in AI
• Proficient in Python and PyTorch programming
• Ability to parallelize code for use in GPUs and HPC (Slurm)
• Good oral and written communication skills in French and/or English
