Senior Transport Assistant I - Grade VIII at Masinde Muliro University of Science & Technology (MMUST)

Job Purpose

The Senior Transport Assistant I is responsible for implementation, monitoring, and controlling of vehicle movement in line with stipulated transport policies, ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy and efficiently managed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform checks of all vehicles to ensure they are in working condition
• Maintain vehicle logs to ascertain mileage and usage patterns
• Design and implement transport solutions
• Participate in acquisition of all insurances and licenses, ensuring timely renewal
• Monitor prudent utilization of fuel cards
• Maintain fiduciary responsibility and high standards of record-keeping
• Observe high standards of attire and tidiness
• Provide safe custody of vehicles
• Check life-saving equipment, complete tool kits, and fire extinguishers
• Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Transport and Logistics Management; OR
• Higher Diploma in Transport and Logistics or Fleet Management with 6 years of work experience, 3 of which as Senior Transport Assistant Grade 7 or equivalent; OR
• Diploma in Transport and Logistics Management with 9 years of work experience, 3 of which as Senior Transport Assistant Grade 7 or equivalent

Additional Requirements

• Membership in a relevant professional body in good standing
• Proficiency in relevant computer applications
