Security Officer at Mirema School

About the Role

A reputable Christian school in the education sector is seeking a dedicated Security Officer. You will be responsible for ensuring the security of the entire premises and all persons on site, including staff, learners, founders, and visitors. Your role will involve preventing unauthorized break-ins and controlling access to the school compound throughout the day and night.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol the premises and monitor the institution to ensure safety
• Guard the entire property, students, staff, and all persons against trespassers, damage, theft, or accidents on day or night shifts
• Monitor and inspect goods or services being delivered to the institution
• Record and sign in employees and visitors in their respective books after confirming the purpose of their visit, and sign them out as they leave the premises
• Allocate parking space for vehicles, motorbikes, and bicycles according to the parking policy
• Scan internal staff bags and belongings as they exit the school and report or question any discrepancies from the norm
• Submit daily shift reports on day and night occurrences
• Contact relevant authorities to deal with unlawful or irregular activities (e.g., police, fire brigade, ambulance)
• Inspect buildings during patrol for water spillages, unlocked rooms/offices, and switches, whether during the day or night

Requirements

• Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience as a Security Officer or equivalent position in a reputable organization
• NYS Training
• Proficiency in Computer Applications
• Certificate in First Aid (advantageous)
