Professor/Associate Professor - Nuclear Engineering - Radiation Measurement and Protection at Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST)

Overview

We are seeking an accomplished Professor or Associate Professor in Nuclear Engineering with expertise in Radiation Measurement and Protection to join our dynamic team at Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST) in Nairobi.

This position involves providing strategic leadership in designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive teaching and learning programmes. You will develop and execute the Institute's research strategies within your area of specialization, mobilize resources, mentor academic staff and students, establish industry collaborations, and champion the dissemination of research outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages at national, regional, and international levels within your area of specialization
• Initiate and lead external funding bids for research and consultancy projects in your area of specialization
• Exercise sapiential authority and provide intellectual and educational leadership
• Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
• Identify student learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes
• Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
• Provide academic leadership that fosters a vibrant and productive academic environment
• Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in your thematic area
• Supervise student theses, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
• Mentor teaching and research staff and students in your area of specialization
• Champion the dissemination of research outputs and outcomes through appropriate channels
• Collaborate with stakeholders and industry partners on technology transfer and innovation commercialization
