About the Position

Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST) is expanding its academic team and seeking exceptional talent to join as a Professor or Associate Professor in Nuclear Engineering, specializing in Radiation Measurement and Protection.

Position Overview

This position entails providing leadership in the design, development, and implementation of teaching and learning programmes at the Institute. You will develop and implement the Institute's research strategies within your area of specialization, mobilize resources, mentor academic staff and students, establish academic-industry collaborations, champion dissemination of research outputs and outcomes, and collaborate with stakeholders on technology transfer and commercialization of innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages nationally, regionally, and internationally within your area of specialization
• Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies
• Exercise intellectual and educational leadership with sapiential authority
• Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
• Identify student learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes
• Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
• Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula
• Supervise students' theses, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
• Mentor teaching and research staff and students in your area of specialization
• Champion the dissemination of research outputs and outcomes
• Collaborate with stakeholders and industry partners on technology transfer and commercialization of innovation
