Position Overview

Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for Professor and Associate Professor positions in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, specializing in Industrial Robot Systems.

These positions entail providing leadership in the design, development, and implementation of teaching and learning programmes at the Institute. Successful candidates will develop and implement the Institute's research strategies within their area of specialization, mobilize resources, mentor academic staff and students, establish academic-industry collaborations, champion dissemination of research outputs, and collaborate with stakeholders on technology transfer and commercialization of innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages in your area of specialization at national, regional, and international levels
• Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies in your area of specialization
• Exercise intellectual and educational leadership within your field
• Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
• Identify student learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes
• Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
• Provide academic leadership to promote a vibrant and productive academic environment
• Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in your thematic area
• Supervise student theses, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
• Mentor teaching and research staff and students in your area of specialization
• Champion the dissemination of research outputs and outcomes in your areas of research interest
• Collaborate with stakeholders and industry partners in technology transfer and commercialization of innovation
