Overview

Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST) is expanding its academic team and seeking exceptional talent for a Professor/Associate Professor position in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, with specialization in Circuit and Device Semiconductor research.

This position entails providing leadership in the design, development, and implementation of teaching and learning programmes at the Institute; developing and implementing the Institute's research strategies within your area of specialization; mobilizing resources; mentoring academic staff and students; establishing academic-industry collaborations; championing dissemination of research outputs; and collaborating with stakeholders and industry in technology transfer and commercialization of innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages in your area of specialization at national, regional, and international levels
• Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies
• Exercise intellectual and educational leadership within your field
• Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
• Identify learning needs of students and design appropriate learning outcomes
• Assess students' learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
• Provide academic leadership by fostering a vibrant and productive academic environment
• Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in your thematic area
• Supervise students' theses, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
• Mentor teaching and research staff and students in your area of specialization
• Champion the dissemination of research outputs and outcomes
• Collaborate with stakeholders and industry in technology transfer and innovation commercialization
