Key Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching and training in general nursing areas
• Develop and review curricula in collaboration with departmental colleagues
• Conduct research and innovation activities, including grant writing
• Supervise and mentor students, including postgraduate supervision
• Mentor junior staff members within the department
• Contribute to publications and other forms of knowledge dissemination
• Assess student performance through setting and marking coursework, practical sessions, supervisions, fieldwork, and examinations, providing constructive feedback
• Engage in professional development activities
• Ensure adherence to quality assurance and accreditation requirements set by relevant regulatory bodies
• Support the Head of Department and programme leaders in managing strategic development and administration
• Participate in fund-raising activities within the department
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Nursing or equivalent qualification from a recognized university
• Registration with relevant professional bodies
• Minimum of 28 points from peer-reviewed publications (from the time of appointment as lecturer or senior lecturer)

Required Experience

• At least three (3) years of full-time university-level teaching as a Lecturer, OR a minimum of six (6) years of industry experience in the relevant field
• Demonstrated experience supervising a minimum of three (3) postgraduate students to completion as a Lecturer
• Familiarity with quality assurance and accreditation requirements of relevant regulatory organizations

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in grant writing and demonstrable ability to lead research projects
• Proven track record of winning research bids and generating income
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
