Network & Analytics Engineer at Sheer Logic

Job Purpose

Manage, support, and operate network systems for our client in the telecommunications industry. Develop company networks, coordinate with the EUS team to identify network needs, and provide assistance to employees and other individuals on how to use the network effectively.

Responsibilities

• Own incidents, track, and update all stakeholders including escalations
• Implement disaster recovery procedures for network elements
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly internal meetings with stakeholders
• Maintain computer networks including routers, VPNs, switches, and other physical hardware
• Install and configure network equipment
• Manage firewall policies and update virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected
• Monitor computer systems to improve network performance across all systems
• Troubleshoot, resolve, and communicate networking issues to employees and management
• Maintain current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer optimal solutions and protection to company systems
• Ensure execution of audit and risk assessment recommendations
• Enforce compliance with all IT and business-related processes

Required Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• 1–3 years of working experience in IT network roles, preferably within the telecommunications industry
• Experience implementing and operating network systems across multiple business units and customer environments
• Comprehensive understanding of network services such as TCP/IP, OSPF, and BGP
• In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems including LAN, firewalls, routers, printers, and monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
• Ability to analyze and evaluate network performance and security requirements
