Head of Business Development and Liability Management

About the Role

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Head of Business Development and Liability Management at the Development Bank of Kenya, Nairobi.

This role provides strategic leadership in business development aligned with the bank's overall strategy. You will be responsible for product development, business banking, alternative channels, marketing, and liability management. The position aims to improve profitability through strategic planning, exploring business opportunities, and positioning the bank in appropriate markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and implement business development, liability management, and customer management policies, programs, and strategies
• Coordinate bank marketing strategy, liability management, and implementation of annual plans and budgets
• Drive lead generation and growth of loans, advances, and liabilities portfolios
• Develop target market selection frameworks
• Manage relationships and networks with business partners and stakeholders
• Ensure cross-selling of bank products to existing and new clients
• Drive end-to-end product management life cycle
• Coordinate the development of suitable banking products
• Identify business development strategies to strengthen the bank's portfolio
• Identify new business opportunities, markets, trends, products, and services
• Plan and execute business and product promotional strategies
• Create and manage key strategic partnerships
• Oversee market intelligence and research activities
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
• Registration with a recognized professional body (KIB, MSK, ICPAK, FMA, or equivalent)
• At least twelve (12) years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of three (3) years at Manager level or comparable position
• In-depth understanding of banking business development and liability management

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
