Hardware Intern – IT at Java House

About the Role

Java House seeks a dedicated Hardware Intern to support IT operations across our headquarters, commissary, and branch locations in Nairobi, Kenya.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure availability and reliability of hardware, CCTV, printers, and UPS systems across HQ, commissary, and branches
• Support commissary systems, network, internet connectivity, and branch connectivity operations
• Provide end-user support for computer hardware, software, and network troubleshooting
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on workstations and IT equipment
• Participate in desktop hardware upgrade planning and new store system rollouts
• Maintain inventory of IT equipment under your jurisdiction
• Install and customize network equipment and provide network support
• Troubleshoot printer and cabling issues to isolate and diagnose problems
• Provide regular reports on application, network, and system availability
• Schedule and implement hardware maintenance plans for computers, peripherals, and printers
• Support day-to-day hardware and cabling administration
• Address all helpdesk calls and incidents within agreed SLA response times
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the department head

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. or Diploma in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field from a recognized university
• A+, N+, or MCT/MCITP certification
• Hardware and software troubleshooting skills
