Job Purpose

To install, train, adjust, maintain, repair, and provide technical support for medical equipment. This role involves performing planned preventive maintenance, curative maintenance, and predictive maintenance on equipment assigned by your supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Address Biomedical Equipment (BME) breakdowns end to end
• Perform calibration and routine preventive maintenance on equipment including Hematology, Chemistry Analyzer, Electrolyte Analyzer, nursing equipment, and radiology
• Troubleshoot BME equipment to identify faults
• Manage inventory for BME equipment at medical centre level within your region
• Maintain BME documentation files at medical centre level
• Install, uninstall, service, and repair BME equipment
• Provide technical support for BME equipment breakdowns
• Assist in orientation and training of new staff on BME equipment
• Prepare daily and monthly breakdown reports for the head of department
• Request replacement equipment as needed through the head of department

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma in Biomedical Engineering
• Member of AMEK (Association of Medical Engineers Kenya)

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Biomedical Engineering experience
